Save Tunstall Pool

25th January 2010
Tunstall Pool in Stoke-on-Trent is one of the oldest surviving swimming pools in the country that is still regularly used by members of the public.

Built in 1889 this fine Grade II listed victorian building still retains many of its original features such as poolside changing cubicles and a viewing gallery as well as having a well equipped dance / aerobics studio and meeting room.

The future for Tunstall pool is facing uncertainty at the moment as the council are looking at ways to save money. A petition containing more than 2000 names has been handed to the council and MP Joan Walley has raised the matter in the house of commons.
